The day after unveiling their new jerseys, the Soudal-Quick Step team went on a team-building outing in sunny Spain on Saturday evening, where they are preparing for the new season in peace and quiet. Well, calm and peaceful weren't exactly on the agenda for Saturday night. The Belgian WorldTour squad attended the Valencia vs. FC Barcelona football match at the Mestalla Stadium.

Julian Alaphilippe, in particular, was in high spirits during the match. However, this time he wasn't channeling his inner Céline Dion like when he revealed the jerseys for the upcoming season. In a video posted by Soudal-Quick Step on 'X', the former world champion is seen energetically dancing to the tunes of Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! by the famous group ABBA. Meanwhile, his fellow countryman Paul Magnier opted for a quieter evening, casually munching on popcorn.

Remco Evenepoel was also part of the excitement. The world champion in time trialing shared a snapshot on Threads ('Facebook’s version of Twitter') of the Mestalla stadium before the game began. "Taking a break from cycling tonight to catch the Valencia CF vs. FC Barcelona match with the team," he captioned it.

The game itself, unlike a cycling race, didn't end with a single winner. Barcelona, with Joao Felix scoring, led the way for the Catalan side 55 minutes in, but they gave Hugo Guillamon ample opportunity to level the score at 1-1.
