The seventeenth stage of the Giro d'Italia was a big opportunity for Mark Cavendish to win another stage in his last Giro. However, the sprinter from Astana Qazaqstan was positioned poorly and therefore didn't play a significant role in the stage won by Alberto Dainese.
It is well known that Cavendish can be a bit fiery, especially after a failed sprint. The Brit found an outlet for his anger in Italian rider Filippo Magli (Green Project-Bardiani). Footage provided by Eurosport shows Cavendish making his way towards Magli. While former cyclist Adam Blythe is being interviewed by Eurosport, Cavendish engages in a heated conversation with Magli, who finished 85th in the stage.
Cavendish has his say, but Magli, who is riding his first Grand Tour, doesn't seem impressed and concludes the discussion with some typical Italian gestures. Cavendish still has one last chance to win a stage in the Giro, during the final stage that leads to Rome.
