Tom Pidcock has revealed his cyclo-cross calendar. As we reported previously, the compact British all-rounder will skip the World Championships but will appear at the start of no less than 10 cyclo-cross races in total. This was announced by his team INEOS Grenadiers via X. Pidcock's first race will be on December 16th in Herentals. He will participate in a total of six World Cup races. His season will end in Benidorm on December 21st.
Tom Pidcock previously announced that he would skip the World Championships, following in the footsteps of Wout van Aert. The decision to miss the World Championships has been a hot topic in the cyclo-cross world over the past weeks and months. There is a major discussion going on about whether or not the top riders participate in World Cups and Superprestiges. Now, Pidcock has confirmed that he will be seen in action at least ten times.
The compact British all-rounder, like Van Aert and Van der Poel, will have a shortened cross schedule, mainly due to preparations for the road season. Pidcock had earlier expressed his desire to ride the Tour again and, according to insiders, he should be capable of winning a stage there, and possibly achieving a good overall classification. Also, the 2022 cyclo-cross world champion aims to once again shine in the spring classics. In preparation for that, Pidcock will mainly race in Belgium and once in the Netherlands, in Hulst. The INEOS rider will cross paths with both Van der Poel and Van Aert multiple times: 'the Big Three' will face off in Antwerp, Gavere, Hulst and Koksijde. Exciting times ahead!
